It was built during the rule of King Anangpal Tomar II and it is also called the Red fort of Delhi. Qila Rai pithora is persian language term that can be translated to Fort of King Prithviraj. In present the fort Qila Rai Pithora is in the state of ruins and is preserved by a Conservation park By Delhi development authorities in the area of 20 acres. History of Qila Rai Pithora In 1160s, the Chauhan rulers took over Delhi from Tomars, at the side it the fortified city of Lal Kot, the primary extant city of Delhi. From that point Prithviraj Chauhan whose capital was Ajmer in Rajasthan, extended the Lal Kot, which had huge rubble dividers and defenses, and renamed it Qila (Post) of Rai Pithora or Qila Rai Pithora.
