Hauz khas fort is located in Delhi's Hauz khas village. It was a part of the medieval city Siri. Hauz Khas is a Farsi word Hauz means water tank and Khas means royal, so hauz khas means royal water tank. The construction of the Hauz khas fort began when Allauddin Khilji gave the order. History of the fort

Hauz Khas Fort was build by Alauddin Khilji in 1284 to guarantee continuous supply of water to Siri Fort. The word Hauz comes from Urdu word Hauz which implies a “Pond”.

How to reach Hauz Khas Fort

The nearest bus station to the Hauz Khas fort is the ISTM bus station and if you are
travelling from metro the nearest metro stations are the Green Park and Hauz
Khas, on the yellow line of Delhi Metro. Hauz Khas Metro Station is just 1600 mtrs
away from the Hauz Khas fort you can take a rickshaw or walk from there. The fort opens every day from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. No entry fees for the entrance to Haus Khas Village but the fee to enter the fort is 20rs if you book online and 25rs if you pay cash per person and the ticket for foreign tourists are 300rs per person.
