Jamali Kamali is a mosque and also a tomb located in Mehrauli's Archeological village complex. The Jamali Kamali was built in 1528-1529 as a mosque and Shaikh Jamali Kamboh a Sufi saint was buried there after his death in 1935. Marble and red sandstone are the primary materials of this mosque and tomb. Jamali Kamali is now being conserved by The Archeological survey of India (ASI).

History of Jamali Kamali

Jamali was the name of Sheik Hamid bin Fazlu’llah who was moreover known as Sheik Jamal-ud-din Kamboh Dehlawi aka Jalal Khan who was a Sufi holy person known for his verse. Amid the rule of Sultan Sikandar Lodi, who ruled from 1489 Ad to 1517 Ad, he came to India and settled in Delhi. Born to a Sunni dealer family, Jamali was afterward presented to Sufism by Sheik Sama-ud-din.
